                                               Jennie Waits

Fine artist, writer, and printmaker, Jennie Waits uses her irreverent and morbid sense of humor to create the colorful but macabre characters which appear in her work. Often relating back to her experiences with intersectionality, Waits’ art is teeming with evidence of her jewish biracial bisexual background and often expresses the angst developed from her experiences growing up in her hometown, Cincinnati, OH. Waits earned her BFA in Printmaking from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, GA with minors in both Drawing and Book Arts in 2017. She has shown work at the Porch Gallery in Savannah, GA; Sycamore Place Gallery in Atlanta, GA; and ACA Gallery in Atlanta, GA. In 2015, she was awarded the Gene Alcott Scholarship trip to New York City, where she hopes someday to exhibit work. In 2017 she placed second in the Annual Book Arts Symposium at SCAD Atlanta.
